Introduction
Pulse ("we", "us", or "our") operates the pulsehq.de website. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, such as when you request a demo or contact us. This may include your name, email address, company name, and your message. You may optionally tell us how you heard about us (a selection field and a free-text field). Your request also carries the first page of our website you visited, the referring website, any campaign parameters in the address bar (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), and your chosen language. This helps us understand which routes bring enquiries to us. It is processed only together with your request — we do not store it on your device and we do not build a visitor profile. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for handling your enquiry and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for the origin data.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and improve our services, communicate with you about our products, and respond to your inquiries.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on servers located in Germany. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. Your demo request reaches us by email and is additionally recorded in a file on the same server, so we can see which channels enquiries come through. We delete both copies 24 months after the last contact, unless a contractual relationship arises or statutory retention periods apply.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data. You may also object to processing or request data portability. Contact us at privacy@pulsehq.de to exercise these rights.
Cookies and analytics
To operate the website we store on your device only what is technically necessary — essentially your analytics choice itself, if you make one. We set no analytics cookies. The contact form is protected against automated submissions by ALTCHA, which we host ourselves. The proof-of-work challenge is issued by our own server and verified there. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and reads nothing from it; there is no access to your terminal equipment within the meaning of § 25 TDDDG. Nothing is passed to third parties and nothing is transferred to a third country. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing automated and abusive submissions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). To understand how the site is used we run Umami, analytics software we host ourselves. It runs on our own server in Germany (analytics.pulsehq.de); nothing is passed to third parties and nothing is transferred to a third country. Umami works without cookies: it stores nothing on your device and reads nothing from it, so no access to your terminal equipment within the meaning of § 25 TDDDG takes place and no consent is required. We deliberately removed the two fields that would change that — screen size and browser language are stripped from every measurement before it leaves your browser. Recorded are the page viewed, the referring website, the country and, where available, region and city derived from your IP address, browser, operating system and device type as your browser identifies them, whether a demo request was submitted, which call to action was clicked, and technical page-loading metrics. A visit is held together by a hash of IP address and browser identifier whose salt changes every day, so you are not identifiable from it and cannot be recognised from one day to the next; Umami does not store the IP address itself. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is understanding which content leads to enquiries so that we can improve the site. Under Art. 21 GDPR you may object to this at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation — use “Analytics settings” in the footer, which takes effect immediately and without a page reload, or write to privacy@pulsehq.de. Whatever you decide, our web server keeps a truncated access log which we process on the same basis; see the “Server Log Files” section.
Server Log Files
Every time our website is accessed, our web server processes the data your browser transmits as part of the HTTP request anyway: the page requested, date and time, HTTP status code, volume of data transferred, the referring website, browser and operating system identifiers, and your IP address. The IP address is truncated as it is written — the final octet for IPv4, everything after the first three blocks for IPv6 — so we never retain a complete IP address. No cookie is set and no information is accessed on your device for this; it covers only data transmitted for the technical purpose of delivering the page. We use this to keep the site running, to detect attacks and faults, and to understand in aggregate which content is being found and which routes bring visitors to us. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure, stable and demand-appropriate operation of our service. Truncated log files are deleted after seven days. Statistics derived from them contain no IP addresses and are retained for longer. Under Art. 21 GDPR you have the right to object to this processing on grounds relating to your particular situation — address any objection to privacy@pulsehq.de.
